About Orchestra

Kamiak High School Orchestras consist of three main orchestras and several performance ensemble groups/opportunities.  Student musicians who play the violin, viola, cello, string bass, and harp, as well as brass and wind instruments, have the opportunity to learn, rehearse, and perform major symphonic works together.

All students participate in performances that include three evening concerts during the school year, the annual Holiday Concert with excerpts from Handel's Messiah, and quartet rehearsals and performance.  Students in the advanced orchestras will also perform in the annual Vienna Ball fundraiser event, compete at the Washington Chapter of the American String Teachers Association Festival in Bellingham, and have the opportunity to audition for the All-State and All-Northwest Orchestras.
