2025 Scholarship Application for Seniors
2025 Applications close at 11:59 PM on May 16th.
The Kamiak Performing Arts Boosters Organization is pleased to offer three different types of scholarships. Any graduating senior who meets the criteria is eligible to apply for one or more of these scholarships:
KPAB $1000.00 SCHOLARSHIP
The Kamiak Performing Arts Boosters Organization is awarding FOUR $1000.00 scholarships to senior students who have participated in the color guard, music, dance, orchestra, band or drama programs while attending Kamiak High School. If you would like to be considered for this scholarship, there is a separate essay required.
KPAB “ANNA BUI” $500.00 SCHOLARSHIP
(This scholarship is available only to graduating seniors in Choir)
Anna Bui was a 2015 graduate of Kamiak High School whose life was tragically ended when she was just 19. Anna was actively involved in the performing arts, both within Kamiak and in her community. In her memory, there is ONE $500.00 scholarship being offered to a senior student who has participated in the Choir program while attending Kamiak High School.
If you are in the CHOIR program and would like to be considered for this scholarship, there is a separate essay required.
CRITERIA FOR APPLYING
- Applicants must be graduating seniors with plans to continue their education the August or September after graduation.
- Candidates must have participated in and contributed to ANY of the Kamiak Fine Arts programs including Band, Orchestra, Choir, Drama, Vocal Jazz, Jazz Band, Color Guard, or Dance Team for the $1000.00 scholarship. Candidates must be involved in CHOIR to be eligible for the $500.00 scholarship.
- Candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or above.
- Applicants must intend to participate in (although not necessarily major in) a Performing Arts program while pursuing their post-high school educational goals.
- Applicants must submit a one-page essay answering a question as determined for each scholarship.
- Need is not a consideration. Commitment to the Kamiak Performing Arts Program, years of involvement, what has been “given back” to Kamiak Performing Arts, extension activities related to Fine Arts, work ethic, integrity, and leadership are additional criteria that will be considered.
- Booster scholarships are for the sole purpose of defraying the cost of post-high school education and are non-renewable awards.
SELECTION PROCESS
- The selection committee will be comprised of Booster members representing each group, two staff members outside of the Fine Arts Department, and an administrator.
- The committee will select the winners based on individual applications and essay submissions.
- The Fine Arts staff will approve the committee’s choices. Selections will be made with the applicant's name known only to the committee chair during the selection process.
